CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE PREVENTION
CURRICULUM:

The curriculum is divided into age-appropriate
graded courses of study: Kindergarten - Grade 1, Grades 2-3, Grades 4-6,
Grades 7-8, and Grades 9-12. Through the development of sexual abuse
prevention skills, students will learn to identify victimization techniques
and refuse and resist them. Students will also learn why a student code of
conduct is important and why disciplinary action is necessary. Each grade level for Kindergarten through Grade
8 consists of four units: |
| Unit #1 - | What is child sexual abuse and who are the abusers? |
| Unit #2 - | What are the techniques used by child sexual abusers to gain the interest and trust of their intended victims? |
| Unit #3 - | How children can be their own first line of defense. |
| Unit #4 - | Reinforcement of the knowledge and skills learned. |
In addition, the curriculum for Grades 9-12 includes units on date rape, peer sexual harassment, and domestic sexual abuse.
Each Course of Study includes a detail a set of 25 Parent Guides, 25 Student Workbooks, a detailed Teacher Resource Guide, curriculum with specific teacher directions and assistance, detailed goals and objectives, student activities, and homework assignments. The curriculum integrates all areas of learning including, but not limited to fine arts, language arts, and critical thinking skills. Through emphasis on the parent - school partnership for child safety, the curricula is designed to assist parents and to teach children to respond appropriately and promptly.
